Just A Few Of My Thoughts …

“After many days of seeing neither the sun nor the stars, and with the violent storm continuing to rage against us, all hope of ever getting through it alive was abandoned. After being without food for a long time, Paul stepped before them all and said, ‘Men, you should have obeyed me and avoided all of this pain and suffering by not leaving Crete. Now listen to me. Don’t be depressed, for no one will perish only the ship will be lost. For God’s angel visited me last night, the angel of my God, the God I passionately serve. He came and stood in front of me and said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul. You are destined to stand trial before Caesar. And because of God’s favor on you, he has given you the lives of everyone who is sailing with you.’ So men, keep up your courage! I know that God will protect you, just as he told me he would. But we must run aground on some island to be saved.” Acts 27:20-26 TPT

What kind, and how much courage does it take for us to simply live from day to day? Until something out of our daily routine happens, it can be easy for us just to float on by, thinking all is good, many times not taking the time to spend a few minutes talking with our Savior. Not until our circumstances seem to hit a wall, do we stop and go to His Word for directions. We fail to recognize the importance of keeping our communication open with our Lord. Regardless of the size, or the importance of the circumstance, we need to move forward with courage.

In this passage, the Apostle Paul, along with a ship filled with so many souls, were sailing from one Island to another, left when the waters were calm, found themselves in the middle of a raging storm. Knowing they were about to drown, total fear gripped them. To their surprise, Paul announced his vision, that all would be saved. For each of us, it is not the size of the storm that matters, it is the courage needed to seek His peace within the asking.

Heavenly Father, help us to remember the importance of facing our storms, with courage, that can only come from you, and be ever so thankful.

In Christ Love
