Anxiety means to worry, be apprehensive, feel uneasy about upcoming events or events we are facing in our everyday life. We face anxiety frequently because things happen that are out of our control such as all the turmoil in our world right now, but sometimes we create our own anxiety. Some handle anxiety better than others. We can continually fret, worry, lose sleep and make ourselves sick over some issues, or face it head on and figure our how to be “less” anxious” about what we are dealing with. Jesus talked about fear, worry and anxiety frequently because He didn’t want us to lose sight of what was most important in life. Anxiety may not go away but there are ways to help cope with it. The scriptures were written for a reason, to soothe your soul, know you are loved and God is walking with you with every step you take. The deeper you grow in “His” words, so will your coping skills for anxiety.
Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Prayer:
Father, we give thanks for the words you have written for us so that we may learn to cope with the many things we are dealing with in our day to day life. We face “giants” frequently but because of You we are able to “slay” them in our own way. In your precious name. Amen
