Coming Out of Our Comfort Zone

We all have a comfort zone and, for most of us, it is difficult to step out of it because of consequences that may follow. Using “Mary” as an example, at such a young age was confronted by the angel Gabriel who told her he was sent by God to inform her that she was to conceive and carry a very special child, who will be known as the son of God, the Messiah! Wow!! What must have been going through her mind and how was she going to tell Joseph, the man she was to marry, not to mention the people in the village, what would they think. What to do, what to do?! Well, we know how all that turned out. Because of her faith and trust in her heavenly Father she knew she had to step out of her comfort zone and do what she had to do. I’m sure Joseph had questions but in the end his love for her and belief in what needed to be done he was ready to step out of his comfort zone as well. So why doe we hesitate to step out of our “zone?” Suffering consequences it may bring because sacrifices will be made and not to mention maybe losing some loved ones and friends. But if we don’t listen to what our Father is encouraging us to do then we lose out, all it takes is that first step!

Joshua 1:9 ESV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to not be afraid and give us the strength we need to step out of our comfort zone into something that could be more miraculous than we could ever imagine. Help us to be better listeners and obey more. Amen
