How often don’t we take the little things in life for granted? We are so grateful for the larger things such as a nice house to live in, nice car to drive, good health and not having to worry about where our next meal is coming from, not that they are any less important, but what about the small things we use and yet don’t think twice about their value? Listening to those folks that have lost everything in the California fires and the hurricane that tore through East Tennessee and North Carolina and how grateful the victims are to have clothes on their backs, a mattress to sleep on, a comb for their hair, a toothbrush, and the list could go and on. It’s too bad it takes a disaster for people to realize how valuable these things are, and should be! I’m always happy to hear disaster victims say they know God will provide and will lead them to recovery no matter how long it takes. This tells me how grateful they are to have survived and grateful for the big and little things they are provided with. This could have been any of us having gone through these disasters and how grateful would we be for any little thing provided for us? Putting our faith into practice in our daily life is one of the best ways to express our gratitude, it helps us to navigate life in a way that makes life so much better. So be grateful for the little things that help to get us through each day. Remember the parable of the mustard seed, so small and yet so large!!
James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the small blessings in our lives, the warmth of the sun, the smile we can put on someone’s face or just a good cup of coffee. Help us all to be grateful for the little things and little moments. In your precious name we pray. Amen
GRATEFUL FOR THE LITTLE THINGS!
