Hollywood is all a buzz about the upcoming Academy Awards this week. I suppose if I was an actor and had been nominated for an Oscar I would be ecstatic, but since I ‘m not part of that world, which is quite alien to me, l don’t have to worry about it ! We all like to be appreciated for our good work, but one night of glory, and probably a headache the next morning, how meaningful is it really?! If celebrities could only remember who helped them
to get there by putting them in the right place at the right time, they would know who and what the real reward is and it’s not a handmade gold statue! God doesn’t care about who wins or loses, but how you went about getting there. As long as you stayed true to yourself, remained humble and let God lead you in the “right” direction by listening to only Him and not the influences of others, you will be a winner in His eyes. There are some
celebrities I have heard that have been re-born and learned who God is and how He has worked in their lives. How enlightening and gratifying that is to hear, and I pray many more feel that way. We as Christians know, we get it and know we will win the biggest reward of all through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Colossians 3:23-24
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Prayer:
Father, we pray for those who would worship idols over you. Help them to remember how it all came to be, and it wasn’t by their own doing. Thank you for reminding us everyday that ”YOU ARE THE TRUE REWARD!” In your precious name we pray. Amen
