“Whenever our hearts make us feel guilty and remind us of our failures, we know that God is much greater and more merciful than our conscience, and he knows everything there is to know about us. My delightfully loved friends, when our hearts don’t condemn us, we have a bold freedom to speak face to face with God. And whatever we ask of him we receive, because we keep his commands. And by our beautiful intentions we continue to do what brings pleasure to him. So these are his commands: that we continually place our trust in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ. and that we keep loving one another, just as he has commanded us. For all who obey his commands find their lives joined in union with him, and he lives and flourishes in them. We know and have proof that he constantly lives and flourishes in us, by the Spirit that he has given us.” 1 John 3:20-24 TPT
Although our desire is to live a life pleasing to God, many times we feel as though we have failed, maybe fallen a bit short, or simply feel as though we are not good enough. Regardless of the circumstance, feelings of guilt. or fear, should never be allowed to take root within our being. We serve a God whose shoulders are large enough to take on the negative hurts, yet allows us to join in union with him.
In this passage, John is reminding us of the importance of believing in Jesus Christ and continuing to love one another. He explains that, through prayer. whatever obedient believers ask, prayerfully, in accordance to His will. they will receive. Every day in our walk, we are to continue to place our trust in the name of Jesus. He allows us the freedom to speak face to face with him, as we seek his peace, knowing it can be ours, simply for the asking.
Heavenly Father, help us to remember, that in your love for us, you made a way, and be ever so thankful.
