“Now your souls will be strengthened and healed if you hold steadfast to your faith. Haven’t you already experienced Jesus Christ himself living in you? If not, you are deficient. I hope you understand that we cannot be devalued. But we pray to God that you will be flawless, not to validate our ministry among you but so that you may continue on the path of righteousness even if we are denigrated. For in reality, the power we hare is used in support of the truth, not against it. And we claim before God that you will be fully equipped and mature, for it brings us great joy when you are strong, even if we seem weak and denigrated.” 2 Corinthians 13:6-9 TPT
For anything to moue, some type of power must be involved, whether it is fuel as used in our vehicles, or water for the movement of the vessels at sea. For us to succeed, or even function, we also need power, preferably that which comes from our faith in God. He has made available to us divine energy, as our Spiritual power in the form of the Holy Spirit. He will release this power as we walk in obedience to Him.
In this passage, the Apostle Paul is reminding us to look at ourselves, as to our faith and our relationship with God, especially concerning God’s Power within us, that being the Holy Spirit. He is explaining that through faith, we should have experienced Jesus Christ living within us, if not, we are incomplete. His prayer is that we will be fully equipped and mature so that through His Power, we can exhibit love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Our prayer should be to grow in our relationship with Him, so that we can share His love, knowing it can be ours simply
for the asking.
Heavenly Father, help us to remember the importance of holding on to steadfast faith, and learning to grow within the Power of the Holy Spirit, and be ever so thankful.
In Christ Love
Margaret
