“Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen. This testimony of faith is what previous generations were commended for. Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen. And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who passionately seek him.” Hebrews 11:1-3, 6 TPT
Faith can be described as confidence and assurance, bringing our hopes into reality, and
becoming the foundation of our beliefs. Hope is for us to desire something with a confident expectation that it will be. God spoke, and through the power of His words, the universe was created. God’s desire is that none should perish, and that through the power of His Word, our faith can see us through any unexplainable future, as we find our strength through hope.
In this passage, we are told that there are two parts in the description of faith. First, faith
gives an assurance of things hoped for, the certainty of things future. Second, faith provides the conviction of things not seen, the persuasion of things invisible, or the indwelling of the Holy Spirit living within us. During this life, we encounter so many challenges of different measures, and in meeting these challenges, we are called to persevere. According to this passage, it is through faith that these challenges are met, and with hope and perseverance, we can continue to seek His peace, in our asking.
Heavenly Father, help us to remember that through faith we have hope, and that no matter the circumstance, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, help us to learn to be still and know that you, in your love for us, care, and be ever so thankful.
