“God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him. Live a cheerful life, without complaining or division among yourselves. For then you will be seen as innocent, faultless, and pure children of God, even though you live in the midst of a brutal and perverse culture. For you will appear among them as shining lights in the universe, offering them the words of eternal life. My beloved ones, don’t ever limit your joy or fail to rejoice in the wonderful experience of knowing our Lord Jesus!” Philippians 2:13-16a, 3:1a TPT
Unfortunately, most of us have dealt with people, or been in circumstances, that could easily drag us down, bringing on negative attitudes, whether in our families, our work, or even within our social gatherings. Without thinking, disagreements, complaints, and hurtful hearts can begin to creep in. Therefore, in all we do, our desire should be to please God, making sure He is in control.
In this passage, the apostle Paul is stressing the importance of having a good relationship with God and being filled with his power, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Although, we may find ourselves surrounded with struggles filled with darkness far beyond our control, as his children, living according to His Word, can bring our lives into a radiant glow throughout the universe.
Heavenly Father, help us to remember the importance of your Word, as we continue to study and apply it’s direction to our daily walk, all for the asking.
In Christ Love
