“But you, 0 Lord, your mercy-seat love is limitless, reaching higher than the highest heavens. Your great faithfulness is infinite, stretching over the whole earth. Your righteousness is unmovable, just like the mighty mountains. Your judgments are as full of wisdom as the oceans are full of water. Your tender care and kindness leave no one forgotten, not a man not even a mouse. 0 God, how extravagant is your cherishing love! All mankind can find a hiding place under the shadow of your wings. All may drink of the anointing from the abundance of your house. All may drink their fill from the delightful springs of Edin. To know you is to experience a flowing fountain, drinking in your life, springing up to satisfy. In your light we receive the light of revelation. It is only a matter of days before we celebrate Valentine’s Day. A day set aside for us to show our love, to show we care for someone holding a special place in our heart. A day where the sale of chocolates and roses rise in waves, and the words, ‘I love you’ are either written or spoke a little more often. In this passage, through the words of David, we see just a bit of the greatness, the faithfulness, and the love of our God, poured out, available to be renewed every morning. The availability of the abundance of the anointing, or to be able to experience a flowing fountain, springing up within, assures us of his extravagant
unfailing love.
Heavenly Father, help us to remember, your righteousness, and your love for us is unmovable, like the mighty mountains, and with faith, believing, we can rest in the shadow of your wings, and be filled with your flowing fountain of peace, all for the asking.
