“God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go, defending you from all harm. If you walk into a trap, they’ll be there for you and keep you from stumbling. You’ll even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness, trampling every one of them beneath your feet! For here is what the Lord has spoken to me: ‘Because you have delighted in me as my great lover, I will greatly protect you. I will set you in a high place, safe and secure before my face. I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will find and feel my presence even in your time of pressure and trouble. I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast. You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you. For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”‘
Psalm 91:11-16 TPT
Within the pages of His Word, we read of how angels are present among the people in both the Old and New Testaments, some being messengers, some in dreams, and others as protectors, or defenders. Realizing that today, we continue to be blessed with these same promises from our Heavenly Father, should bring comfort instead of fear or anxiety.
In this passage, the Psalmist brings to our attention the fact that we are constantly guarded by angels directed specifically to each one of us, no matter the situation. In the midst of confusion, anger, or pain, to find a place of security, to feel the presence of our Lord filling us with his peace, would be just a few of his attributes, assuring us he’s our glorious hero. In his love for us, no matter the ordeal we find ourselves facing, he continues to poor out these blessings, as they await us, all for our asking.
Heavenly Father, help us to remember to use our lifeline to you first, before anxiety, that being prayer.
In Christ Love
