Just A Few Of My Thoughts …

“Arriving at the tomb they discovered that the huge stone covering the entrance had been rolled aside, so they went in to look. But the tomb was empty. The body of Jesus was gone! They stood there, stunned and perplexed. Suddenly two men in dazzling white robes shining like lightning appeared above them. Terrified, the women fell to the ground on their faces. The men in white said to them, ‘Why would you look for the living One in a tomb? He is not here, for he has risen! Have you forgotten what he said to you while he was still in Galilee: The Son of Man is destined to be handed over to sinful men to be nailed to a cross, and on the third day he will rise again?”‘ Luke 24:2-7 TPT

After witnessing such a death, with the mocking, the beatings, watching, as he was nailed to a cross, the devastation of it all, to these ladies, probably overshadowed his promise of the resurrection. Today, do we continue to look for Jesus in an empty tomb, or are we celebrating his resurrection, knowing that death has been conquered through the love of our Heavenly Father, in the gift of his Son.

In this passage, Luke explains how terrified it was for, not only to find an empty tomb, but to see the two men, shining like lightning, proclaiming the resurrection of our Savior. To bring the comfort of peace, the men reminded the ladies of his previous message, of how he was to be treated in death, and on the third day, he would rise again. Today, his resurrection, the power that brought Jesus back form the dead, even with all the turmoil surrounding us, is available to each of us, all for the asking!

Heavenly Father, help us to remember, that in your love for us, you gave your Son, that through His death and resurrection, we might live.

In Christ Love
