“The one with a wise heart is called discerning, and speaking sweetly to others makes your teaching even more convincing. Wisdom is a deep well of understanding opened up within you as a fountain of life for others, but it’s senseless to try to instruct a fool. Winsome words pour from a heart of wisdom, adding value to all you teach. Nothing is more appealing than speaking beautiful, life-giving words. For they release sweetness to our souls and inner healing to our spirits.” Proverbs 16:21-24 TPT
How do we measure up? In other words, are we living a life that would be a positive influence to those around us? We need to ask ourselves these questions, since we, as God’s children should be positive role models for all those with whom we encounter, using wisdom in the way we act and the words we speak that coincide with his Word. Our influence should be like a fountain of life promoting the abundant living God has made available for all who belong to him.
In this passage we find the sweetness of those with wise hearts, discerning and teaching God’s wisdom as a fountain of life. A heart filled with the wisdom found within his Word, will speak persuasively, with beautiful life-giving words promoting the hope of eternal life with Him. He allows us to choose, either a life being dragged down by the weight of this world, or being blessed, creating within us a wise heart, filled with wisdom as a fountain of life releasing sweetness to our souls and peace within, remembering it can be ours, for the asking.
Heavenly Father, help us to remember, that the wisdom found within your Word creates wise hearts, a necessity for understanding, teaching, and living for Him.
