Self Image

Why is it when we look in the mirror we are our own worst critics? We see our little flaws, both internally and externally. We are told God doesn’t make mistakes, but how often don’t we want something changed, added or deleted? I suppose some changes are good in that they can give one more confidence within themselves, but if we really looked
deeply within ourselves and see what God sees, the outer flaws wouldn’t mean much. Once we get to know God and who He is in us and who we are in Him, our self image and confidence will shine like the reflection in a mirror, flaws and all!

l Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Prayer:
Lord, when we look in the mirror help us to see more of what you see and less flaws that our earthly self sees. We know we are far from perfect, but when we know our heart as you do the flaws wont matter. In your name we pray. Amen
