Sounds

I’m not sure how certain sounds effect people the way they do me. To hear a train whistle at a far off distance or a fog horn off the lakes are sounds of sadness, loneliness and melancholy to me. I feel a little nostalgic too, but, for the most part, in a good way. A train track ran VERY close to where I grew up and when I hear a train whistle I am reminded of the wonderful childhood I had. I know it is not the same for everyone and I pray there is one sound that is pleasing to them. The sound of God’s voice is above all most important. It lifts us up, teaches us, guides us, encourages us and so much more. We don’t have to wait on one particular “man made” sound to make us feel something when God is present, “always!” Just be still and listen!

Mark 4:24
And He said to them, “pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you and still more will be added to you.

Prayer:
Lord, continue to teach us to be more patient and still so we may hear the glorious sound of your voice, only! Amen
