Mama

Mama cried many and night while I was raising hell, racing drinking running around, she knew it all too well, that worn out rug beside her bed was used and used real well

The mirror in the hallway tells all there is to tell, grandma prayed beside her bed, Lord keep them safe and save their souls from hell!

My bride is praying for our son on knees beside our bed, should’ve been home by now dear Lord, hold him tight and help him keep his head

The mirror in the hallway tells all there is to tell…

Thinking about spinning out that car one night, racing while the road was wet, sliding backwards past the telephone poles like in a catcher’s mitt.

The mirror in the hallway tells all there is to tell…

She sees her mama late at night from in the other room speaking words that don’t make sense but sound like sweet perfume, watching in the mirror from great grandma’s house she climbs out of bed to her knees quiet as a mouse

The mirror is just a reflection of all this come to pass, shadows of the praying moms beyond the looking glass. many sons and daughters give thanks for you today, watching in that hallway mirror mom you taught us How to pray!
