Just A Few Of My Thoughts …

“God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to find refuge! You’re a proven help in time of trouble-more than enough and always available whenever I need you. God has a constantly flowing river whose sparkling streams bring joy and delight to his people. His river flows right through the city of God Most High, into his holy dwelling places. God is in the midst of his city, secure and never shaken. At daybreak his help will be seen with the appearing of the dawn. Surrender your anxiety! Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God. I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth. The Lord God Most High is astonishing, awesome beyond words! He’s the formidable and powerful King over all the earth.” Psalm 46:1,4-5,10 47:2 TPT

We are blessed in that no matter the circumstance we find ourselves in the midst of, our God has a personal safe and powerful place available for us. Unfortunately, so many times we find ourselves being caught in the middle of whatever we are facing, where anxiety can begin to overcome, and we lose sight of being still and realizing that our God is the formidable and powerful King over all the earth.

In this passage, the Psalmist is reminding us that with God, like a river, who sparking streams bring joy and delight to his people, continues to sustain our lives. He remains the God above all nations and will be exalted throughout the entire world. It is His desire for us to learn to be still, within His presence, learning to surrender our anxieties in the midst of our storms where we can know that he is our God, all for the asking.

Heavenly Father, help us to remember the importance of being still within our storms, so that we can feel your presence and know that you are our God, for which we are ever so thankful.
