IS IT CHRISTMASTIME ALREADY?!

We’ve just turned our calendars over to October, and even before that, we were seeing the beginning of the Christmas holiday season in our local stores. Now that we are progressing into October the stores are almost in full swing with Christmas decorations! If you’re looking for Halloween costumes or decorations, good luck with that as retailers can’t seem to be moving things around fast enough to find room for all the Christmas goodies. I’m not sure about anyone else but I have a hard time finding items for Thanksgiving as the stores seem to forget there is another holiday that falls in between Halloween and Christmas altogether, the one holiday event we should be giving thanks and be grateful for all that we have been blessed with including all the other holidays we are allowed to celebrate throughout the year. Most of us are aware that retailers are looking at the bottom line and it is about turning a profit, and, they think this is what the consumer wants. Maybe some are good with all the early holiday “hype,” and that’s okay, but for many of us, let’s take one holiday at a time and enjoy the moment. Holidays, no matter which one it is, help us to reflect on days gone by, most good, some maybe not great, but for me it is recalling family and friends that have meant so much to me and been part of so many holiday celebrations. We are told by our Heavenly Father to slow down, look around and enjoy what He has created for us. So don’t rush it because it will be gone in the “blink of an eye!”

Ecclesiastes 3:1
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to slow down and not waste time on the material things and think too far ahead that we might miss the good things right where we are. Help us to focus more on You and be reminded You are always here guiding the way. In Your precious name we pray. Amen
