HURT FEELINGS!

We’ve all had our feelings hurt at some time over the years, so most of us can sympathize and empathize with others when their feelings are hurt. Most recently a close family member of mine has been deeply hurt having been excluded from a large family and friends event, one that should be joyful and celebratory, coming up this month. Unsure of what the reason is as there is no animosity or anger within the family, some of us are left “perplexed!” This “wounded” family member is one who usually takes things in stride, but when they found out how far the invitations reached as all family members were included except this particular family member and their children. I have found myself to be caught in the middle with the wounded family member and one involved in the wedding, who said they were hoping to correct the issue, which is most likely a bit late at this point. I only pray that this doesn’t create more problems for other family members and things are resolved peacefully. I know this is typical in so many family settings, but so often once things are said and done, it’s hard to take them back. Learning to forgive, especially when it comes to the ones closest to you is difficult, but without it you can’t move on. We may not forget, but forgiveness will go a long way!

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we ask for healing within and over family members who have been, hurt, wounded and angered for reasons we don’t necessarily understand. We pray for lines of communication to be open for dialogue so feelings can be mended, and those involved can move on. In your precious name we pray. Amen
