THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WAITING AND ANTICIPATING!

I’m not sure there really is a whole lot of difference between the two mentioned above. Waiting is where a person remains in place or in a state of readiness for something to happen. Anticipating involves an expectation of something that is going to happen, often a sense of eagerness or excitement. Waiting can cause more emotional issues such as frustration, anxiety and loss of patience, whereas anticipation is more positive with hope and excitement, although, will it reach my expectations of what I hoped for?! We’ve all experienced both, and as Christians we know how we are suppose to handle them but do we always, especially when we are in a rush to get things done! We need to remind ourselves, constantly, to not be over anxious lest we miss any number of things that could be overlooked, and one of those things could be feeling blessed to be waiting in line to buy a few groceries to put food on our tables when many cannot. Waiting and anticipation seem to go “hand in hand” as we anticipate how long will we have to wait and what will the outcome be? If we wait with great anticipation to what is coming and believe with certainly it will happen, that is “faith!”

Psalm 27:14
Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to wait with hope and positive expectation anticipation knowing that your are always with us and working our situations out for good. In your precious name we pray. Amen
