Have you ever thought about how many times daily you use the word hope? We hope for good weather, we hope things go well at work, we hope our children do well in school, we hope, we hope and we hope some more. The word hope means” to have a feeling of expectation and a desire for certain thing to happen”. We are always looking for a positive outcome even in the faces of challenges. Hope can be a powerful force that helps us want to do better as we strive for our goals. We hang on to hope during difficult times knowing that joy can be experienced again. For those that can’t, won’t and don’t hang on to hope, they will only fall into a dark place, and for many, may never come back but may continue to fall deeper into darkness and not find that place of hope again, and we all know someone that has happened to. It’s a difficult process to watch, especially when it is a loved one and hope is just around the corner. As Christians, we know one of the greatest gifts God has given us is hope. We know we can look at any situation and know that regardless of how things look God is going to come through for us. Even in our challenges, when evil tries to attack our hope, we can stand strong encouraged by the hope that dwells within us. Hope ties into our faith. We have hope because we have faith, we have faith because we have hope. God never wants us to lose hope, we only need to keep our trust in the one who is faithful because He will not let us down.
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to remember that through you comes our strength and our hope. We can do all things through you. Help those who are facing challenges and struggling to find hope so they can find their way out of the darkness and into the light of hope. In your precious name we pray. Amen
