“For you are my only hope, Lord! I’ve hung on to you, trusting in you all my life. It was you who supported me from the day I was born, loving me, helping me through my life’s journey. You’ve made me into a miracle; no wonder I trust you and praise you forever! Many marvel at my success, but I know it is all because of you, my mighty protector! I’m overflowing with your praise for all you’ve done, and your splendor thrills me all day long. God, now that I’m old and gray, don’t walk away. Give me grace to demonstrate to the next generation all your mighty miracles and your excitement, to show them your magnificent power!” Psalm 71:5-8,18 TPT
If we have given ourselves to the Lord, and we have continued to walk alongside him, we can look back at our lives and hopefully see where we got it, either wrong or right. That being said, we should have the ability to see where improvements could or should have been made. As we continue to live and grow in our closeness to Him, our praise should be that of thankfulness due to His bountiful blessings.
In reading this passage we should realize that all we are, and the abundance of all our blessings and our successes, whatever they might be, is ours, due to the graciousness of our Loving Heavenly Father. He has been our protector from before we were born and has brought us through our life’s journey. As we continue to grow, no matter the circumstance we find ourselves in the midst of, our resolve should be that of seeking our resolutions in the asking.
Heavenly Father, help us to remember the importance of showing off your magnificent power through our prayers, including your mighty miracles, to the next generation, and for this opportunity, we are ever so thankful.
