Having recently seen a story about a young man with Cerebral Palsy and how successful he has become was truly inspiring. At sixteen, in his twenties now, he began trying different hot sauce combinations to help ease his palsy spasms. As word spread about how good his sauces were, and how well they worked for him, has managed to turn it into quite a profitable enterprise. In most cases a disability is not a curse and in a case such as this young man God is displaying His power and glory through human weakness. When l say “most cases” is because there are those that create their own disability by the choices they make, and we pray that glory will come from that as well to inspire others to not make the same bad choices. Everyday we see· disabled people who are an inspiration to us by doing the best they can to make a better life for themselves and rise above their weakness. This shows God’s grace and His strength in human “fragility.” When we look into, the face of a disabled person, instead of judging the handicap, let’s see how the glory of God is working through them! (Read Exodus 4:11)
Matthew 15:31
The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we pray for those living with a disability to find courage and strength to overcome their weakness and find their potential for what they can do so they may find peace, and may our community see your glory through them and be an inspiration to all. In Your precious name we pray.
Amen
