“This is why I tell you to never be worried about your life, for all that you need will be provided, such as food, water, clothing-everything your body needs. Isn’t your body more than clothing? So them, forsake your worries! Why would you say, ‘What will we eat?’ Or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For that is what the unbelievers chase after. Doesn’t your heavenly Father already know the things your bodies require? So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.” Matthew 6:25,31-34 TPT
Whether we realize it or not, God knows what is best for our lives. The one thing we need to remember, is that He continues to be in control, therefore we need not worry about what may or may not happen even moments from now. There is nothing we go through that God is not aware of, so maintaining a good relationship with Him, and continuing to stay in His Word, can help us overcome the less important things that tend to overtake us.
In this passage Jesus is telling us to seek God first, above all else, and live righteously, which means to put God first in every aspect of our lives. Worrying can leave us empty, fill us with anxiety, and interfere with our relationship with God. Even though we are His Children, we don’t know what tomorrow holds, but we know who holds tomorrow. God’s desire is for us to remember the past, plan for the future, but to live in the present, with the intent of growing in His Word, as we continue to seek Him in the asking!
Heavenly Father, help us to remember that worry accomplishes nothing, instead, seeking your face becomes our only choice, for which we are ever so thankful.
In Christ Love
