Discipline is a word many of us struggle with. Those of us who are parents don’t have much trouble disciplining our children, pets and, sometimes, other loved ones around us. However, when it comes to ourselves, just how disciplined are we? We are so easily influenced by earthly things; we don’t always have enough discipline to make a favorable choice then suffer unfavorable consequences. By disciplining ourselves to turn to our Heavenly Father first through prayer, scripture, and learn “to be still and listen,” will help us to make more favorable choices and put us in a better, more comfortable place. Let’s all learn to be better “self” disciplinarians in this new year!
Hebrews 12:11 ESV
For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been train by it.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to have better self-discipline in this new year, we know when we are “right” with you, we are in better control of ourselves! Amen
