It’s hard to believe it is that time of year again for our school age kiddos. Seems like Summer was just getting started! However, for some parents the start of school couldn’t come any too soon, and breath a sigh of relief, while others find it coming all too soon and reach for a box of tissues! Children feel much the same way. Some excited to see friends they haven’t seen since school was out, and for some that are entering school for the first time can bring on tears and tummy aches as they nervously wait to see if they can make new friends. So much depends on the child as each one has a different personality. Our job is to support and encourage them along their journey. Not only is it our responsibility to encourage their education they receive at school, but it is our responsibility to educate them about God and what it means to live as followers of Jesus. We want to teach them how to be a good Christian witness to not only their friends at school, but respectful and obey their teachers. We want them to learn to be kind and caring to others by sharing and serving others. It’s important at the end of the day to ask what the best thing was about their school day and even what the worst part of the day was, if any. This is the time not only for encouragement but for finding solutions to make the worst part of the day better! When the children are at school, we need to trust they are in God’s care. When we do that, we’ll find the joy and peace of knowing that God loves our children more than we do!
Proverbs: 22:6
Start children off the way they should go and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we just ask for your continued protection, guidance and wisdom for our children as they enter a new school year, as well as strength and courage to face the challenges they may encounter along the way. In your precious name we pray. Amen
BACK TO SCHOOL TIME!
