The changing seasons reminds us that we are not in control but does remind us of who is. We all have our favorite time of year and as long as we live in areas where we have climate changes its up to us to adapt. Having the good fortune to live in Hawaii for a time, needless to say the weather was ideal all year round, and it wasn’t that difficult to adapt, however, as an East coast gal I missed the seasonal changes. It’s hard to say which season is my favorite, although Spring has a way of showing us a renewal of hope and new beginnings with blooming flowers, birds singing and warmer temperatures. Now that we are in Fall, we can’t help but enjoy the changing color of the leaves and cooler temperatures. For many this time of year is exciting in other ways, it means a new beginning for those entering school, or college, and of course, for the sports nut, football season! This time of year also reminds us of what lies ahead, but we will adapt and get through it because we are NOT in control. We need to be reminded by these changes that God is sovereign over all things, but His faith and love for use will never change. Trust Him through all of life’s transitions, find purpose in each season.
Ecclesiastes 3:1
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank you for blessing us with the changing seasons. May we always be reminded that You are sovereign over all things but your love for us is steadfast. In Your precious name we pray. Amen
