Whether we realize it or not, we are truly blessed. How many of us have looked at our surrounding, and all that God has provided? Of course we did our part, but it was through Him that our accomplishments were met. It is easy to let ourselves get down and become frustrated with life, especially when problems arise. These are the times when we are to remember that our God is greater than our challenges.
In this passage, King David is praising God for all that he has and continues to do for him. He is reminding us that He forgives our sins, heals our sicknesses, fulfills our desires, and above all else, loves us unconditionally. All that in itself is much more than we deserve, but He continues to see that each day is equipped with all that we need, even before we think to ask. Although we don’t deserve it, His love continues to flood over us, like a raging river overflowing its banks, as we respond to His request of our continuing to ask for Him!
Heavenly Father, help us to remember to look around us, to consider how we have been blessed, and be truly thankful.
