Just A Few Of My Thoughts …

“Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change. God was delighted to give us birth by the truth of his infallible Word so that we would fulfill his chosen destiny for us and become the favorite ones out of all his creation! My dearest brothers and sisters, take this to heart: Be quick to listen, but slow to speak. And be slow to become angry, for human anger is never a legitimate tool to promote God’s righteous purpose. So this is why we abandon everything morally impure and all forms of wicked conduct. Instead, with a sensitive spirit we absorb God’s Word; which has been implanted within our nature, for the Word of Life has power to continually deliver us.” James 1:17-21 TPT

As God’s children, we are blessed daily with good and perfect gifts. Unfortunately, so much of the time, we fail to appreciate even our surroundings. We take one another for granted, and many times speak before we think, causing hurt. Words are spoken and we tend to become angry causing distance many times to come between families and friends. We know that God, through His Word and the Holy Spirit has the power to continually deliver us.

In this passage, the Apostle James, tells us to listen carefully before we speak, and to live by the truths found in God’s infallible Word so that we can live accordingly. The more we learn and know about our God through His Word, the easier it becomes to control our speech, to control our anger, and to realize His love for us. His desire is for us, through a sensitive spirit, to continue to grow and absorb His Word, as we seek to become more like Him, knowing as He has promised, it can be ours for the asking!

Heavenly Father, help us to remember that within your Word, you have given us instructions for peaceful living with one another, and we are ever so thankful.
