Just A Few Of My Thoughts …

“And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it. He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures, but he will overwhelm your failures, with his generous grace. Just make sure you ask empowered by confident faith without doubting that you will receive. For the ambivalent person believes one minute and doubts the next. Being undecided makes you become like the rough seas driven and tossed by the wind. You’re up one minute and tossed down the next. When you are half-hearted and wavering, it leaves you unstable. Can you really expect to receive anything from the Lord when you’re in that condition? Don’t just listen to the Word of Truth and not respond to it, for that is the essence of self-deception. So always let his Word become like poetry written and fulfilled by your life!” James 1:6-8,22 TPT

How many of us, no matter the circumstance, are equipped with the ability to make the appropriate decisions to resolve whatever we are facing? One of the definitions of wisdom is, the ability to recognize right from wrong, and another being simply good judgment, with the power to act on either. The Bible tells us that Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, therefore, as we continue to glean from the study of His Word, we grow.

In this passage, we are reminded to ask for wisdom and he will give it to us. But we must remember to do so empowered with confident faith. We must believe and not doubt, knowing that in his love for us, his direction and his timing are exactly what we need. This passage is not only talking about knowledge, or wisdom, but the ability to make difficult decisions in the midst of circumstances that tend to tear us apart, therefore, in order to obtain all these, we are told to ASK.

Heavenly Father, help us to remember that in your love for us, through our prayers, wisdom can be ours, and we are ever so thankful.

In Christ Love
