Just A Few Of My Thoughts …

“If troubles weigh us down, that just means that we will receive even more comfort to pass on to you for your deliverance! For the comfort pouring into us empowers us to bring comfort to you. And with this comfort upholding you, you can endure victoriously the same suffering that we experience. Now our hope for you is unshakable, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings you will also share in God’s comforting strength. Now it is God himself who has anointed us. And he is constantly strengthening both you and us in union with Christ. He knows we are his since he has also stamped his seal of love over our hearts and has given us the Holy Spirit like an engagement ring is given to a bride-a down payment of the blessings to come!” 2 Corinthians 1:6-7,21-22 TPT

When we are in the midst of troubles, and it seems like life is crumbling down around us, the last thing we want to think is that it is for our own good, or that it will make us stronger. But according to this passage that is exactly what should happen. We fail to realize that within the midst of every circumstance, God is continuing to build us up with unshakable hope that will withstand life’s earthquakes.

In this passage, the Apostle Paul is explaining how the troubles that we so often are forced to endure, are there to make us stronger, since we are his. According to him, this was God’s way of allowing us to become more like Jesus, to suffer for the gospel, as well as to strengthen our faith. He has stamped his seal of love over our hearts and has given us the Holy Spirit like an engagement ring to wrap around us, as we continue, through every trial, to grow, knowing our strength can be found within the asking.

Heavenly Father, help us to remember, that no matter the circumstance before us, through You, salvation can be ours, and for that, we are ever so thankful.
