“Lord, you are so good to me, so kind in every way and ready to forgive, for your grace-fountain keeps overflowing, drenching all your lovers who pray to you. Whenever trouble strikes, I will keep crying out to you, for I know your help is on the way. God, there’s no one like you; there’s no other god as famous as you. You outshine all others and your miracles make it easy to know you. Teach me more about you, how you work and how you move, so that I can walk onward in your truth until everything within me brings honor to your name. With all my heart and passion I will thank you, my God! I will give glory to your name, always and forever! Bring me to your grace-fountain so that your strength becomes mine. Be my hero and come rescue your servant once again!” Psalm 86:5,7-8,11-12,16 TPT
Many times, in the midst of difficult circumstances, the very best thing for us to do is to turn whatever we are facing over to God. After all, he knows exactly what we need well before we ask. Our desire should be to grow within his grace so that no matter what life tends to throw our way, we can and will be equipped to handle it.
In this passage, David is acknowledging the fact that his God is so good to him, so kind and always ready to forgive. Whenever he faced trouble, he knew where to go for help. His prayer was to continue to learn more about his God, asking for his grace-fountain, so that he could grow in strength and in truth. Like David, our prayer should be to grow in this same strength and truth, which can be ours for the asking.
Heavenly Father, help us to realize that no matter what we are facing, our God is well aware, ready to take our prayers! And for this, we are ever so thankful.
In Christ Love
