Just A Few Of My Thoughts…

“Let the inner movement of your heart always be to love one another, and never play the role of an actor wearing a mask. Despise evil and embrace everything that is good and virtuous. Be devoted to tenderly loving your fellow believers as members of one family. Try to outdo yourselves in respect and honor of one another. Be enthusiastic to serve the Lord, keeping your passion toward him boiling hot! Radiate with the glow of the Holy Spirit and let him fill you with excitement as you serve him. Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times.” Romans 12:9-12 TPT

So often, within our conversations the words I love you are spoken, maybe out of habit, maybe to avoid hurtful feelings, or maybe just to be polite. Sincere love for one another requires us to show efforts filled with actions, coated with compassion, reaching out far beyond just words. In so doing, we are extending and promoting God’s love to those around us.

In this passage, the Apostle Paul is explaining the importance of love in action, assuring it to be genuine, first as we love the Lord our God, followed with love for our neighbors, leaving no one out. We are to honor and respect one another as we enthusiastically serve the Lord together, as in one family. Created in His image, we are to love and respect one another, while always communicating with God.

Heavenly Father, help us to remember that in your unconditional and unfailing love for us, you gave your only unique Son, who gave his all, paying the price for us, and be ever so thankful.
