Just A Few Of My Thoughts …

“My son, obey your father’s godly instruction and follow your mother’s life-giving teachings. Fill your heart with their advice and let your life be shaped by what they’re taught you. Their wisdom will guide you wherever you go and keep you from bringing harm to yourself. Their instruction will whisper to you at every sunrise and direct you through a brand-new day. For truth is a bright beam of light shining into every area of your life, instructing and correcting you to discover the ways to godly living.” Proverbs 6:20-23

During our youth, to assist in our learning of the teachings found in His Word, our parents taught us the importance of coming together, becoming a part of the Sunday School classes, and various meetings offered for the youth. We were introduced to the Word of God at an early age, taught about the love of Jesus, from his miraculous birth to his agonizing death on the cross, including his spectacular resurrection. Are we, as the Parents and Grandparents of today’s youth, living a life before them that would be pleasing to our Lord? In this passage we can see the importance of observing, and not forsaking, the teachings of our parents, and to continually carry them in our hearts. As we grow, their wisdom should become a part of our lives, guiding us morning by morning. Continuing our walk with Jesus, living a life pleasing to him can prove at times to be difficult. With their prayers, and their instructions throughout our lives our Mothers and Grandmothers have taught us the beginning ways to godly living, instilling in us the desire to continue in his truths for our growth through his teachings, remembering that through it all our peace can be found in Him, all for the asking!

Heavenly Father, help us to remember, that as Mothers and Grandmothers of today, our lives are role models for the children around us, therefore, help us to continually seek you for our direction.

In Christ Love
