Life Can Be A Heavy Burden

I recently read an article about a motivational speaker explaining stress management to an audience. He asked the audience “how heavy a glass of water is?” After audience members answered with specific weights, the speaker said weight doesn’t matter, it’s how long you
have to hold the glass of water. The longer you hold it the heavier it becomes. It’s the same with stress and the burdens we hold onto in life, the longer we hold onto them the heavier they become. It’s been said God doesn’t give us anymore than we can handle, however it may not always feel that way if we choose to hang onto whatever is troubling us. God provides us with what we need, to let go of worry, stress and the burdens that weigh us down in life as long as we look to Him for guidance . He will always find a way to comfort and relieve us of whatever ”heaviness” is on us. Remember what Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Psalm 119:143
Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight.

Prayer:
Lord, continue to remind us that we don’t have to handle the burdens in life on our own, that You are there when we feel things are spiraling out of control and will help us to get back to where we need to be . In Your name we pray. Amen
