REMEMBERING D-DAY!

We all celebrate the major holidays in a big way but others not the way they might have been at one time. The most recent and less celebrated holiday was O-Day. How many of us even took notice of it much less even heard little about it? D-Day was celebrated to honor our nation’s brave soldiers who laid down their lives to bring an end to an evil and horrible war, WWII. Most of those who survived are gone now and with them historical experiences most of us will never understand. Every century, every nation has experienced war. Jesus told us there would be wars and rumors of wars until His return. War reminds us that at the heart of conflict is sin, our biggest problem. We’ve seen it time and time again, and though we may not be in a physical battle as those soldiers were in on D-Day, we have spiritual battles everyday, and like those soldiers, it takes bravery, commitment and sacrifice to fight the evil one. Take time on these forgotten holidays to remember and give thanks to our military personnel for their sacrifices to keep you free as someone else did on Calvary. Ephesian 6:12

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, remind us to always be thankful for those that have gone before us and those that still are in battles to keep us free so we may live in peace. Help us to strengthen our spiritual selves as we continually battle evil everyday. In your precious name we pray. Amen
