When we hear about innocent people that are attacked for who they are and what they believe is heartbreaking. It is also heartbreaking to know the attacker is so full of hatred and pure evil to do such acts. We are hearing more and more of such attacks by those who are so self-absorbed and entitled to think they are above those who don’t share the same beliefs as they do, and I’m sure many of these attackers feel they are still right before God, and, more than likely, many feel nothing! I guess they were never taught that we were “ALL” made in God’s image and God cherishes us all. God wants us to see the value in others, which means we don’t have to agree with everyone or be their best friend, but it means showing people the love of God through what we do and how we treat them. We want people to feel worthy no matter what their beliefs. I find it interesting listening to those who believe differently as to why they chose that particular religious path to follow, and, hopefully, gain a better understanding of where they are coming from. Sometimes Christians come across as judgmental or hypocritical when listening to those with different beliefs, but as Christians we are not to look down on others, we want to be a good witness for God and do not want to be part of contributing to a bad reputation for the Christian faith. Throughout the Bible we are reminded to love one another and treating one another with dignity and respect. Would you not want to be treated that way as well?
Romans 12:10
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, each day help us to respect, tolerate and give dignity to those we are surrounded by each day no matter who they are. Help us to be kind, patient, a helper and a good listener to others. In your precious name we pray. Amen
