WHAT DOES SUMMERTIME MEAN TO YOU?

As Summer approaches we think of putting away winter clothes and heavy coats and bring out the lighter weight items. Our thoughts also turn to vacations, the beach, swimming, visiting family, friends, or visiting places we have never been before, or re-visiting some favorite spots. Growing up one of my favorite places to re-visit, year after year, was Walloon Lake Michigan. We stayed in a converted boy scout camp cabin, with what was called bunk rooms, which were several individual rooms separate from the cabin. There was “no” indoor plumbing, if you get my drift, but that was what made it so much fun and unique. It was a little extra work, but we all pitched in to help. Most of all were the beautiful family memories we made to share the rest of our lives. Even now when I am with my two sisters, all of us in our 80’s, we still share those memories. I pray you all have special memories of Summer, either when you were growing up, or even from recent Summers. These memories are a beautiful, wonderful blessing from God, and many make us who we are today.

Deuteronomy 4:9
Only be careful and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live.

Prayer:
Thank you Heavenly Father for the blessing of precious memories, especially those memories that help us through some troubled times and will lift us up. May they be with us for the rest of our lives. In your precious name we pray. Amen
