“So be alert and discerning. Remember that for three years, night and day, I’ve never stopped warning each of you, pouring out my heart to you with tears. And so now, I entrust you into God’s hands and the message of his grace, which is all that you need to become strong. All of God’s blessings are imparted through the message of his grace, which he provides as the spiritual inheritance given to all of his holy ones. I’ve left you an example of how you should serve and take care of those who are weak. For we must always cherish the words of our Lord Jesus, who taught, ‘Giving brings a far greater blessing than receiving.”‘
Act 20:31-32,35 TPT
God’s Grace! Two words we so often take for granted, maybe not realizing their importance. Looking for the meaning, we find that it’s the love and favor of God toward human beings. Simply stated, it is unearned love! One might say, it is a wonderful God Thing! At least that’s one of the ways my VBS boys and girls seemed to understand this past week. The point being that we have a loving God, that through the death and resurrection of his son, through grace, we become his children. Imagine that!
In this passage, the apostle Paul is about to leave this church, reminding them of the message of God’s grace, provided as their spiritual inheritance. As their minister, he is instructing them, leaving them with examples as to how they should serve one another for strength and growth. He is reminding them to live as Jesus taught, ‘Giving is a better blessing than receiving.’ Today, we too, can be entrusted into God’s hands through the message of his ‘unearned love,’ all for the asking!
Heavenly Father, help us to remember the importance of your grace, that in your love for us, you so graciously provided, and be ever so thankful.
In Christ Love
