CELEBRATING THANKSGIVING!

Thanksgiving means different things to various people. For most of us it is celebrating the holiday with family and friends, for some it is just another day, others it is a day off from work and to many a day for eating, drinking and watching football! For retailers it usually means the kick off for Christmas shopping. Unfortunately many have lost insight as to what Thanksgiving truly is. It is a holiday set aside to celebrate the harvest and blessing of the past year. It is modeled after a harvest feast shared by the English Colonists (Pilgrims) of Plymouth and Wampanong people in 1621. This is a feast and celebration to be shared with our families and friends and to be reminded of how the Lord has blessed us with all that is good in our lives. We know that some of the dynamics in our lives are not perfect, but this is one day we can look beyond that and see the good things and love those around us unconditionally! May your Thanksgiving be filled with love and many blessings as you gather together.

Psalm 100:4
Enter His gates with Thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name.

Prayer:
We thank you Father for all your blessings to us and our families, we thank you for the strength you give us each day and for all the people you surround us with to make life more meaningful. In your precious name we pray. Amen
