THE CHALLENGE OF LEARNING NEW THINGS!

Learning new things can certainly be frustrating to say the least especially after you reach a certain age and “thought” you knew all there was to know! However, as new gadgets and electronics are invented, supposedly to make our lives easier, but for some of us older folks, especially, it can make our lives more complicated. When we are babies we are eager to learn to walk, talk and know what a toy does, because we haven’t learned much else at that time, but as we grow our brain has matured enough so we know what’s going on around us, and most of us do want to keep up with our changing world so ” we won’t feel left out”! Frustration and impatience our two words that come to mind when I think of learning some of these new gadgets, but I have learned that repetition is the key to getting there. There are still challenges along the way, but when I think how much more I know ” now” about these things than I did even five years ago, I’m a bit amazed. The same could be said about learning how the Bible reads. We are all “babes” when we start learning about God, who He is and what He is doing for us, and if we don’t continue leaning into His words and what they are telling us “we will be left out!” Someone told me once that there is so much repetition in the Bible, and they said it like it was a bad thing, but to me it is God being repetitive because He wants us to “get it!” If we want to grow and mature physically, mentally and spiritually in all things new we must absorb what we can no matter how many times we have to” repeat and repeat again!”

Isaiah 43:18-19
Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the ability you have given us to learn and grow. Help us to feel less anxious and more focused on the new knowledge that lies ahead and fill us with the confidence we need to keep trying. In Your precious name we pray. Amen
