Just A Few Of My Thoughts …

“Humiliated, the son finally realized what he was doing and he thought, ‘there are many workers at my father’s house who have all the food they want with plenty to spare. They lack nothing. Why am I here dying of hunger, feeding these pigs and eating their slop? I want to go back home to my father’s house, and I’ll say to him, ‘Father, I was wrong. I have sinned against you. I’ll never be worthy to be called your son. Please, Father, just treat me like one of your employees.’ So the young son set off for home. From a long distance away, his father saw him coming, dressed as a beggar, and great compassion swelled up in his heart for his son who was returning home. So the father raced out to meet him. He swept him up in his arms, hugged him dearly, and kissed him over and over with tender love.” Luke 15:17-20 TPT

A father’s love for his children must be filled with patience and understanding. So many times we are faced with situations created by our children where these virtues are critical for any kind of solution to take place. His patient understanding through love can lead to a calming solution, but only if the two remember to earnestly seek their Heavenly Father first.

In this passage Luke, the physician, is explaining the importance of never giving up on love. We should hold on, with patience to this heart-felt calling, of love never failing. This father never gave up, instead, he held on, with love, watching and patiently waiting. So many times, our Heavenly Father is constantly doing the same for us. He waits, patiently, with open arms to keep us from falling, instead, wrapping us with his robe of peace since it can be ours for the asking!

Heavenly Father, help us to remember the importance of seeking you first, remembering that your love is filled with constant, patient, love, and understanding, for which we are ever so grateful.

In Christ Love
