THE GLORY OF GOD AND NATURE!

I couldn’t help but watch in wonder at the color changes after a recent storm had passed through our area right about sunset. We had been experiencing storms, which at times were real “gully washers,” as the old timers would tell you, but nothing much out of the ordinary. This last storm seemed a bit out of the ordinary though as when it began to pass and the sun began to peek through the clouds the colors that it produced were amazing, colors I had not experienced following the other storms. There was a mist surrounding our hills which may have enhanced the colors I was seeing. It was as though a rainbow had “exploded” over our farm! My first thought was “how does God do it?” The simple answer is because He IS God, and why He chose this particular storm to display these colors, who knows why. Maybe to make me (us) more aware of His creation, glorify Him and give thanks to Him for these precious gifts in nature, which we all have a tendency to take for granted. Even the rain, although inconvenient at times, was badly needed as we are in an area that has been in a drought for some time, but because of God’s glory and grace we are slowly recovering from it. God’s creations are all around us, we just need to stop, look, listen, enjoy and give glory to Him for these gifts!

Psalm24:1
The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we give thanks to You as the Creator of our beautiful earth, help us to gain the wisdom we need to protect and honor our environment. May we be refreshed and find quiet peace in natures gifts You have created for us. In Your precious name we pray. Amen
