It’s always nice to receive a “pat” on the back or be recognized for doing something good, in other words feeling validated . Then there on the ones who need to feel validated for every little thing they have done, no matter how big or how small and they will be sure to tell you every little detail. They will also feel the need to tell anyone who is willing to listen to them the same thing over and over. There are many reasons people are this way. It could be they were not validated, or felt they weren’t while growing up. It can make a child feel unimportant, even worthless if they aren’t encouraged or recognized for good things they have done. Then there are the folks that are recognized for their work but then want to boast about what they have done just for the attention. We need to not search for approval, or validation, from people but to God, He hears us and accepts us because He made us the way we are for a reason. He sees our good works and He knows our heart and we want only to please Him! We have to remember that we don’t always have to explain every little thing we have done because the results of our actions will show our good works to others, and knowing our validation comes from God is all we need . .
Galatians 1:10
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people I would not be a servant of Christ.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we pray for validation from You and You alone when we do good works. We know our self worth comes from you and not the opinions and factors from other people. Continue to guide us and encourage us to where you need us to be. In Your precious name we pray. Amen
SEEKING VALIDATION!
