Just A Few Of My Thoughts …

“Create a new, clean heart within me. Fill me with pure thoughts and holy desires, ready to please you. May you never reject me! May you never take from me your sacred Spirit! Let my passion for life be restored, tasting joy in every breakthrough you bring to me. Hold me close to you with a willing spirit that obeys whatever you say. Then I can show to other guilty ones how loving and merciful you are. They will find their way back home to you, knowing that you will forgive them.” Psalm 51:10-13 TPT

Where do we go, and how do we cope when within our lives, we find ourselves in the midst of circumstances that we know would not be pleasing to God? Attempting to continue in whatever ordeal we have managed to find ourselves in will only lead to hurt. Learning to realize that no matter what we are facing, nothing surprises our Heavenly Father, who is a constant in the restoration of relationships, as he continues to be in the repair business.

In this passage, King David is humbling asking for forgiveness, the removal of sin, and to renew a steadfast spirit within him. He is also requesting a new clean heart, a new creation, and to be filled with pure thoughts and holy desires. In his sin, he had lost his joy, as well as his passion for life, therefore, in his request, he is asking his Heavenly Father for restoration. In our lives, so often, we find ourselves weighed down with circumstances, many times totally beyond our control, consuming our inner peace. Like David, our hearts need to be renewed, with a restoration of your peace, and we know it can be ours, simply for the asking.

Heavenly Father, help us to remember, that in your love for us, you remain ready to lift our weights, and renew our hearts, while holding us close, and be ever so thankful.

In Christ Love
