We all struggle with trust issues from time to time, especially in today’s world with worry of being scammed or taken advantage of in other ways. It can deeply effect us emotionally and physically. I have known people who are so deeply effected by trust issues that they will lash out at others to protect themselves from further harm. It’s a “get them before they get me” emotion and can definitely turn people away from you as people like that can say and do hurtful things to others without much thought. Lack of trust can also be traced back to how a person was raised, especially if they weren’t brought up in a stable environment. These are the ones who need the most help healing from whatever caused their trust issues, unfortunately some may feel they are okay and it is normal for them to feel that way. Most of us don’t want to feel that way as we all want to live in a “trusting” world. The best we can do is learn from our own experiences , grow from that and set the example for those around us that we can be trusted! As Christians we know we can rely on God when it comes to the heavy burden of trust. He is always present, His words never change and He will always listen. Always be vigilante when it comes to “trust” issues but don’t let it consume your life, rest and trust in God!
Psalm 9:10
Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
Prayer:
Oh good and gracious God, You know the issues we have dealt with from past trust issues, we ask that you give us the wisdom for guidance to see things clearly where we can set boundaries to be in a safe place when it comes to trusting others and circumstances around us. In Your precious name we pray. Amen
